The Apple Extreme's Router function has to be put into Bridge mode so it acts as an Access Point. I implemented this set up in 2014 and works without issue. It's a personal preference, on the Apple, I use different SSIDs to those on the Telstra Modem so that I know which network I am connecting to when upstairs. The Airport Extreme has no ADSL modem, so it can't do the connection to the telephone exchange, so you will still need the Homehub (or any 3rd party ADSL Modem router) to make the connection. If you wish to use the Airport Extreme for wireless I would disable the wireless from the Homehub first though using the Advanced settings->Wireless at Jun 21, 2019 · The primary base station (Home, in this example) is connected to the Internet via your modem or router. Apr 10, 2017 · I connect the second port to Airport Extreme's Wan port. And then setting it up by creating a second Wifi Hotspot in the House. (I don't want to disable the Wifi Hotspot of my DSL Modem) 1st Problem: Whenever I try to connect to the new Wifi Hotspot that is coming from the Airport Extreme, it always says invalid password.
